An outstanding yet obscure bothy ballad, The Scranky Black Farmer tells of the inland travels of a young sea-faring lad in search of employment. Fee'd by the farmer, the traveller soon experiences the hardship of farm-life under the watchful eye of his employer.
After finding only six known versions of this song, negotiations have now been made with the record companies to release an archive compilation 'remix' album of the Scranky Black Farmer.
Available as a vinyl record with hand printed cover from the Deveron Arts shop.
