Shadow Curator
Shadow Curator is a curatorial methodology coined by Nuno Sacramento. The idea of Shadow Curator is lent from the Shadow Minister system in government. Similar to the Shadow Minister, the role of the Shadow Curator is to critcise the appointed Curator throughout all aspects of decision making.
Nuno stayed as Shadow Curator with Deveron Arts in 2007; during this period he and Claudia, DA Director had discussions concerning the approaches and strategies of contemporary arts in the rural context, which now lead to the publication of a curatorial handbook for collaborative practice. Nuno has co-authored ARTocracy, a curatorial handbook of collaborative art and practice.
