Thierry Geoffroy, alias Colonel, is originally from France. He visited Huntly as a 'professional tourist' in 2004. Through his project 'Made in Huntly' he took 250 self-measurements of Scottishness. These were taken on the town square, in the local school, at Dean's Shortbread factory and many more locations. The collection of images was subsequently 'exhibited' in the Huntly Express on a double centre page and the whole performance was documented by BBC and Grampian TV.
A panel discussion on the question of nationality and identity, led by Richard Demarco, was held in the Huntly Hotel.
