ARTCUP
International ArtCup has opened up an opportunity for the (not insubstantial) band of footballer-artists to share their mutual passion for the beautiful game. After competitions in Lisbon, Helsinki and Belgrade, ArtCup came to Scotland, taking on a team from Denmark at the Christie Park grounds of Huntly FC on 24 June 2006.
Complementing the International ArtCup football match was a special exhibition, Le Salon des Refusés, featuring works by each of the footballer-artists. The works were shown in the ArtCup exhibition at Huntly FC premises in the changing room, VIP suite and board room.
Associated with ArtCup was a "mini world cup" that saw 12 teams from Primary Schools across Aberdeenshire competing for a place in the final.
