David Blyth is no stranger to Huntly, or to Aberdeenshire for that matter. Having undertaken one of the first ever residencies offered by Deveron Arts in 1998, David has now made a return visit to the town in this two-year position as town artist. The Town Artist is a collaborative project which seeks to develop dynamic partnerships between local groups and young contemporary artists.
During this time David has embarked on a number of projects, addressing themes as wide as people's relationship to animals, bothy ballads and farming life. His time in Huntly culminated in a project entitled Knockturne, for which he worked with a local sheep farmer during the lambing season.
